Is this the proper way to make a dry ice bomb?
So my friends and I are planning on making some dry ice bombs (for explosions, see youtube if you don’t know what I’m talking about) and we have heard several ways on how to make one. Let’s say we’re talking about a 2 liter soda bottle here. Should we:
1. Put the water in, drop in a piece of dry ice, and run
2. Put the water in, drop in a piece of dry ice, screw on the cap, and run
3. Put the dry ice in, pour water in, and run
4. Somehow tie a string around the dry ice and tie it to the top with the water at the bottom, screw on the cap, and run
5. Something else?
Also, I’m open for suggestions on how to do it with smaller waterbottles, how much water to pour in, and any other suggestions.
If you are that afraid you don’t even need the water. The water just speeds up the sublimation rate. But i have no idea how long it would take for the pressure to build up without the water.
