Mountaineering Equipment

If the questions of "Mountaineering: Freedom of the Hills" very different?
I would buy so-called guide to climbing, and I note that editions are much cheaper. I'm fairly new to climbing and I would like to know more about the principles, techniques, equipment, etc. Should I go ahead a get the sixth (1992) edition, or has been changed significantly and there are many new materials from the seventh (2003) is a better option? Thank you.
The new edition is updated for seizures, block, climbing sports, and other techniques, including the best articles on tools and use ice. Not enough importance in the comments that I can recommend publishing The most recent lot of details that have changed since the 1992 edition, in both technology and equipment. Another book worth the detour is in a news release about funding Falcon, definitely a good reference.
